Our Bronx-wide Coalition, policy platforms, and economic development plan are the result of Bronx residents building power together for years—across neighborhoods, generations, race, gender, class, ethnicity, immigration status, and faith. We are a Bronx-wide Coalition because we are more powerful together.
Since 2019, we have come together around a Bronx-wide Plan—a 30-year economic development plan for the borough, rooted in building shared wealth and ownership over the assets in our communities and growing our capacity to govern and steward them together.
It builds on decades of organizing, direct services, advocacy, and action by Bronx-based organizations and residents. To move this plan from vision to implementation, Our Bronx partnered with the Bronx Economic Development Corporation (BxEDC) to develop the Bronx’s first federally-certified Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), strengthening coordination across sectors and channeling investment towards shared ownership and environmental resilience.

Over the course of 2020, thousands of Bronxites engaged in an expansive participatory process to develop the Bronx People’s Platform for Congress. Through crafting a collective vision for the Bronx, we united our organizing efforts across the entire borough. We followed that up with the Bronx People’s Platform for NYC in 2021 and the Bronx People’s State Agenda in 2022, hosting candidates forums in every Bronx city council, state senate, and state assembly district where elections were held. These platforms served as the foundation for the creation of our Bronx-wide Plan.
